Deleting a LTI item Leaves the Respective Column Visible in the Mobile App

Date Published: May 08,2024

CategoryPlanned First Fix Release:Future Reference; Product:Learn; Version:Ultra
Article No.: 000078619
Product:
Blackboard Learn
Release:
SaaS
Service Pack(s):
Ultra
Description:
When a LTI item is deleted, the grade column is still visible in the Mobile App.

This also happens when an Adaptive Release rule restricts access to the assignment.
Steps to Repeat:
  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra as an administrator
  2. Create an Original Course and enroll 2 students
  3. Access the course
  4. Click on the plus sign (+) at the top left corner (under the course name)
  5. Select Tool Link, then type a name (for example 'My Grades'). Under Type select My Grades
  6. Check the box 'Available to Users' and Submit
  7. Select Content from the course menu on the left. Click on Build Content, then type a name (for example 'LTI assignment with Adaptive release')
  8. Click the Yes radio button next to Enable Evaluation and type '10' for Points Possible > Submit
  9. Log in as one of the students using a desktop device
  10. Select Courses at the Ultra Base Navigation menu and access the test course
  11. Select the Content option from the course menu on the left. Notice the assignment is visible.
  12. Select My Grades from the course menu on the left (the link created on step 5). Notice the grade column assigned to the assignment.
  13. Login as the same student, but this time on a mobile device using the Blackboard Mobile App
  14. Go to Courses > Access the course > Course Content > Content. Notice the assignment is visible.
  15. Go back to Course Content > My Grades. The user can still see the Grade column from the app
  16. Log in again as an administrator
  17. Access the test course
  18. Select Content from the course menu on the left
  19. Access the contextual menu drop down next to the assignment name. In the Username textbox type the username for the second test student > Browse > Check the box in front of the username > Submit (This is making the Assignment available only to the second test student).
  20. Repeat steps 8 to 15 with the second student. The assignment or the grade column assigned to it are not visible. Also, the assignment is not visible under Content in the Blackboard Mobile App
  21. Go back to Course Content > My Grades

Observed Behavior:
The Grade column for the assignment created at step 7 is still visible, even though the assignment is no longer available.

Expected Behavior:
The Grade column is not visible for the assignment created at step 7 because that assignment is now available to the second test student only.
